Our colleague Jo Davies has just sent over the link for a great new blog that has been set up to promote the research that Jo and  Her fellow author Derek Brazel have completed in order to create this massive survey of contemporary illustration.

"Our Making Great Illustration book looks at some of the world’s best illustrators, offering information from exclusive interviews, with images of work and portrait and studio photographs, it offers a view into the creation of illustration from concept to finished work. The blog shares our travels around the world to interview the thirty illustrators featured.

Published in September 2011, the book has ten sections, covering a wide range of illustrative practice from design and advertising, political illustration, children’s books, surface pattern and fashion illustration through to graphic novels and reportage illustration, showcasing many of the top artists in each field.

Making Great Illustration reveals the diversity of working methods used, and gives a rare insight into the unique perspective, approach and artwork of each artist."

If you are interested in publishing your drawings then this might be a good place, they publish a bi-annual newspaper that showcases a number different artists/illustrators. We have a copy of Drawing paper No 1 in the office if you are want to have a look. The editor is really up for people uploading drawings to the blog.
